Monday, August 10 at 5:00 PM, The Wizard of Oz at Sphere opens the week with one of live entertainment’s most genuinely novel staging choices: life-size flying monkeys piloted by UAV technology above the Las Vegas audience during the Haunted Forest sequence.
Each UAV flight is timed precisely to the 16K visuals and the remastered score. It sounds like a stunt until you are sitting underneath it in Sphere and it absolutely is not — it is one of the most precisely executed effects in a show full of them.
