Tuesday, August 4 at 8:00 PM, Sphere runs The Wizard of Oz in a late evening slot — the Emerald City sequences glow across a 16K wraparound screen in a darkened room, and the pyrotechnics in the Wizard’s throne room arrive like controlled thunder inside Las Vegas’s most technically advanced venue.
The production fires real flames synchronized to the film and the remastered score through 167,000 speakers. Las Vegas evenings have a particular quality when a show is built to genuinely match them at full scale, and this one is.
