Monday, August 3 at 2:00 PM, Sphere’s afternoon show of The Wizard of Oz is a quiet-start-to-the-week option in Las Vegas before the weekend crowds return to the Strip later in August.
The venue’s interior display surface — 160,000 square feet, wrapping up and over the audience at 16K resolution — is unlike anything else in live entertainment. The Wizard of Oz was chosen for this format partly because of how powerfully its visual language translates into a fully surrounding image. In person, Dorothy’s world wrapping around you at that scale is startling even when you know it is coming.
