Thursday, July 30 at 2:00 PM, one of the final July shows at Sphere runs in the afternoon slot — a good moment to catch The Wizard of Oz before the calendar flips into August on the Las Vegas Strip.
Sphere’s production re-recorded the 1939 orchestral score and rebuilt the visual track using AI to fill a 160,000-square-foot display at 16K resolution. Physical effects — snow, wind, fog, fire — land at the moments the film’s narrative calls for them. Every element was chosen to serve the story, not just demonstrate what the venue can do technically.
