The Wizard of Oz at Sphere

Tuesday, July 21 at 5:00 PM at Sphere, the production honors Herbert Stothart’s original 1939 compositions by re-recording them for a sound system that Stothart could not have imagined when he wrote the score.
The orchestrations were preserved — not altered — and then pushed through Sphere Immersive Sound’s 167,000 programmable speakers, which can direct any instrument to any seat in the Las Vegas venue. You hear the Wizard of Oz score with a spatial clarity and physical presence that the original film recording was never able to deliver.
