Wednesday, July 15 runs late at Sphere with an 8:00 PM start — an evening midweek slot that puts The Wizard of Oz squarely into Las Vegas night-show territory on the Strip.
The pyrotechnics in the Wizard’s throne room and the towering fire bursts during the film’s climactic sequences hit differently in an evening atmosphere when the venue is darkened and the effects run at full intensity. This production works in any time slot, but a warm Las Vegas Wednesday night gives it exactly the right frame.
