Saturday, December 26 at 2:00 PM at Reynolds Hall in The Smith Center, Nevada Ballet Theatre returns with a post-Christmas matinee of The Nutcracker for visitors and locals still in the full spirit of the season.
NBT’s Balanchine production runs through the complete arc of beloved characters — the Sugarplum Fairy, Dewdrop, the Nutcracker Prince — to Tchaikovsky’s sweeping score, presented in a Las Vegas concert hall that was built for exactly this kind of performance. The day after Christmas, the city has a warm, unhurried feel, and a Saturday afternoon matinee here fits it perfectly.
