Metallica: Life Burns Faster at Sphere — October 1–3, 2026

Metallica opens Life Burns Faster, the first heavy metal residency in Sphere’s history, with this kickoff pair on October 1 and 3, 2026. The residency takes its name from a Master of Puppets lyric and grew from eight announced shows to 24 running into March 2027 — the band called the final expansion “maxing out” the run.

These two nights carry the No Repeat Weekend format Metallica introduced on the M72 World Tour: the Thursday and Saturday shows share zero songs, so two-night ticket holders hear completely different sets drawn from live staples and catalog surprises.

Sphere, the 17,600-seat dome just off the Strip at the Venetian, rebuilds its entire visual environment for each residency — Lars Ulrich has said the idea took hold about twelve seconds into U2’s 2023 opening night. Expect the wraparound screen and spatial audio system pushed toward something purpose-built for the band’s intensity rather than a scaled-up arena show.
