The Orange Mound rapper builds beats from chopped samples and deep reverb, then delivers a slow-paced, nonchalant flow steeped in Memphis underground tradition — Three 6 Mafia and Tommy Wright III are the DNA, but the result is completely his own voice and cadence.
A Sunday night at Brooklyn Bowl is the right environment for music this hypnotic and intentionally specific.
