Smiles\nGreet chirping joy birds. \nJoin Nevada Humanities and local poet and educator John Arsenault on Saturday\, April 25\, 2026\, from 1-2 p.m. for a Sagebrush to Sandstone workshop celebrating the art and beauty of haiku in the spring time. This workshop will take place indoors at the Huffaker Historic Schoolhouse at Bartley Ranch Park in Reno\, and include a brief outdoor walk. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about a brief history of haiku and draft and practice their own haiku inspired by nature. \nThis workshop is open to participants of all ages and skill levels. Pencil and paper will be provided. \nSpace for this event is limited\, and registration in advance is required.  \n\n\n\nThis program is supported with funding by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University.

Forms emerge\, dissolve\, and reappear across the surface\, suggesting shifting fields of energy\, atmosphere\, and light. \nOstovany studied art as an undergraduate at the University of Nevada\, Reno\, and received his Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1995. DESCRIPTION:The photographic practice of Steven Seidenberg explores a material world of the unnoticed\, fixing attention on structures\, environments\, and landscapes often hidden in plain sight. Three photographic series are combined in this exhibition; each focuses on past and present living conditions in a different area of the world (Puglia and Rome\, Italy; Kanazawa\, Japan).
