SUMMARY:Notions of Erasure: United by Territory
DESCRIPTION:Nevada State University\nThalia Dondero Gallery\, Christenson Education Building – CEB Second Floor\nMonday-Friday during regular hours of operation\nFree parking and open to the public\nMaps and hours of operation \nExhibition run: Aug. 31 – Dec. 4\, 2026\nReception: Oct. 15\, 2026 5:00 – 7:00 PM \nThe Thalia Dondero Gallery presents “Notions of Erasure: United By Territory\,” an exhibit that provides an opportunity for the residents and visitors of the Vegas Valley to view selected works from the 2023 Nevada Arts Council Visual Arts Fellows. The exhibition is on view at Nevada State University through Dec. 4\, 2026. \nThis traveling exhibition\, curated by the Nevada Arts Council’s Artist Services Program\, features 2023 fellows: Jeffrey Burden of Las Vegas\, Glynn Cartledge of Reno\, Gig Depio of Las Vegas\, Miya Hannan of Reno\, Brent Holmes of Las Vegas\, and Bobbie Ann Howell of Las Vegas. Each artist created work independently of one another and with no intention of ever appearing together; yet\, when shown alongside one another\, the exhibit reveals how an artist’s place\, time and environment can create unexpected and unintended connections that share human experiences. This exhibit brings together an extraordinary collection of unique artworks that span multiple media—from intimate drawings and bold paintings to intricate textiles\, delicate cut paper compositions\, and innovative digital creations. \nThe prestigious Nevada Arts Council Fellowship Award provides meaningful financial support and enhanced public recognition to exceptional Nevada artists\, fostering their continued pursuit of artistic excellence and creativity. \nThe exhibit is part of the Nevada Touring Initiative (NTI) Traveling Exhibition Program \, which delivers high-quality visual arts exhibits to communities throughout the state. It is funded by the State of Nevada and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Nevada Arts Council is a division of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. \nThe Thalia Dondero Gallery is a program of the Office for the Arts at Nevada State University. For more information about our arts programming\, visit our webpage and follow us on Instagram\, Facebook\, and X at @NevadaStateArts. \nArt Credit: Miyah Hannah\, Certainty 3

SUMMARY:Paul Ogata
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 25 closes Paul Ogata’s week at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club with an 8 PM show that benefits from the looser\, end-of-weekend room. Ogata’s style—fast\, edgy\, heavily audience-interactive—actually thrives when the crowd is relaxed and willing to become part of the act\, which a Sunday night at the MGM Grand often delivers. \nHe’ll riff differently on a Sunday crowd than he did Saturday\, and that’s the point. A closing-night Las Vegas comedy show with actual unpredictability built into the format.

SUMMARY:Adam Carolla
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 24 closes out the weekend run with Adam Carolla at the 9:30 PM slot inside Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club on the Strip. \nHis act is part stand-up\, part live radio broadcast: anecdotes from a life lived very loudly\, peppered with sharp cultural observation and the kind of spontaneous crowd moments that his fans show up specifically to witness. Carolla has built one of the most devoted live comedy audiences in the country through decades of podcasting\, writing\, and performing\, and that rapport with a room is tangible from the first minute. If you have only experienced him through headphones\, the full Las Vegas version on a Saturday night at 9:30 PM is a genuinely different and more rewarding experience.
