DESCRIPTION:The Jazz & Beyond festival will include 25 free concerts at various Carson City venues. It opens with the Reno Jazz Orchestra led by its exciting music director and arranger\, Greg Johnson\, on Friday\, Aug. 14\, outdoors at the Governor’s Mansion. \nThe Country-themed “An Afternoon at the Silver Saddle Ranch” with music\, cowboy poetry\, and mule rides will be on Sunday\, Aug. 16. Some festival highlights are the dynamic six-piece Latin-jazz ensemble\, No Comprende\, on Tuesday\, Aug. 18\, at McFadden Plaza; Lucky Diamond and the Incontinentals and Cherie and John Shipley’s Take This on Wednesday\, Aug. 19\, at the Bliss Mansion; Mile High Jazz Band’s Basie’s Birthday concert on Friday\, Aug. 21; and the all-female big-band\, Sapphire Jazz Ensemble on Sunday\, Aug. 23. \nThe full schedule of events on the websites Jazzcarsoncity.com and Milehighjazz.com will be updated frequently. Annual Jazz & Beyond Festivals are presented by the Mile High Jazz Band Association and are supported by grants from Carson City\, the Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts\, and by private donations.

DESCRIPTION:Nevada Humanities presents Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways\, an exhibition celebrating the diverse food traditions and stories of the people of the Silver State. Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways will be on display at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas from June 4 to Aug. 26\, 2026. \nAround the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways features stories about the food traditions of Nevadans as told through handmade\, descriptive\, illustrated recipe cards and zines. A zine is a small\, handmade\, self-published booklet or magazine that provides a hands-on\, do-it-yourself way to share stories\, artwork\, poetry\, and ideas. Around the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways will display food-oriented zines and recipe cards created by everyday Nevadans from across the state that represent the diversity and meaning of Nevada’s family food traditions. \nAround the Table: Stories of Nevada Foodways is part of Nevada Humanities’ Around the Table initiative of free\, public humanities-based programming in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Throughout 2026\, Nevada Humanities invites Nevadans to share and celebrate their diverse food traditions through a series of public events and creative reflections that explore Nevada foodways\, food traditions\, and expressive culture across the Silver State. Nevada Humanities will document Nevadans’ food stories and traditions in a new zine and recipe card collection housed in the Nevada Humanities archives. DESCRIPTION:The Village at Rancharrah\, fondly known as “Reno’s backyard\,”  is excited to welcome the community back for its popular Village Summer Concert Series presented by Dolan Auto Group\, now entering its fourth year. This cherished weekly event brings together hundreds of locals to enjoy warm evenings filled with live music\, connection\, and celebration in one of Reno-Tahoe’s most vibrant outdoor destinations. Beginning Wednesday\, May 27 and running through Wednesday\, Sept. 2\, friends\, families and visitors alike can enjoy live music weekly in the Village courtyard from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. \nThis free weekly event has become a beloved summer tradition in Reno\, regularly drawing hundreds of attendees to the Village at Rancharrah.
