DESCRIPTION:The photographic practice of Steven Seidenberg explores a material world of the unnoticed\, fixing attention on structures\, environments\, and landscapes often hidden in plain sight. Three photographic series are combined in this exhibition; each focuses on past and present living conditions in a different area of the world (Puglia and Rome\, Italy; Kanazawa\, Japan). At the heart of the evening is Nathan Amaral\, the first prize winner of the 2024 Sphinx Competition\, whose artistry illuminates Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto—a work of exquisite elegance and fiery virtuosity\, as if the violin itself is searching for truth in every soaring phrase. The journey begins with Autumn Maria Reed’s Robin’s Eye View\, a vivid and imaginative exploration of the world from above.
