The Nevada P.S. I Love You Postcard Project is an ongoing program to connect Nevadans across the state by sharing the things we love about Nevada. Bring your friends and family for a fun\, inspiring day filled with books\, creativity\, culinary delights\, and community vibes. \nJoin Nevada Humanities and workshop leaders Mei-Mei Mijares and Niko Mendoza for a zine-making workshop at the Our Mothers’ Gardens Book Festival on Saturday\, April 25\, 2026\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Obodo Urban Farm in Las Vegas. During this drop-in workshop and activity\, participants will have the chance to create zines that celebrate our family recipes\, stories\, and communities in Nevada. \nThis zine-making workshop is free and open to the public. All materials and instruction will be provided\, and no prior experience is needed. \nAround the Table programming is produced by Nevada Humanities as part of the national initiative By the People: Conversations Beyond 250\, which is a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners\, and was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

SUMMARY:Caribbean Heritage Festival
DESCRIPTION:Sample the traditions\, music\, and flavors of the Caribbean. Bring a blanket or low back chair and enjoy a day of performances that will include calypso\, reggae\, traditional Cuban music and sounds direct from the Caribbean.  Also featuring children’ activities\, community exhibitors\, artisan vendor booths\, a variety of food trucks\, and an alcohol vendor. Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza is outdoors. Ice chests permitted for water only. Parking is available throughout Lorenzi Park grounds. Pets will not be permitted inside the festival plaza.
